The Radial Engineering MIX 2:1 features TRS and XLR inputs at its inputs, with ground lift switches to eliminate buzz and hum caused by ground loops, ensuring noise-free operation. Each input can be individually engaged or disengaged, allowing you to audition each signal before summing them together. There is also a trim control on each input, which is useful when connecting two separate mono sources, such as two mic preamps, as it allows you to attenuate each source as needed to match their levels at the output. The level controls can also be bypassed, summing inputs 1 and 2 equally and preventing accidental or unwanted level adjustments.

To address issues with frequency cancellation due to out-of-phase inputs, the MIX 2:1 has a 180 flip on Input-2. After the signals are passively summed together, they feed into a single XLR output, which can be connected to a powered speaker, console, or recording interface.
